BESCHREIBUNG: RISC Technology recaptures architectural splendor of Cluny monasterynCluny, France .... With the resurrection of views that vanished 200 years ago, the demolished architectural splendor of the 11th Century Abbey of St. Peter and Paul -- better known as the Cluny monastery -- has been reborn through a multi-image video presentation in the ruins of the old abbey, the Cluny's Ochier Museum, located some 225 miles south of Paris.nNearly two years ago, three engineering graduates from France's Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts et Metiers began to reconstruct a model of the Abbey, using IBM's RISC System/6000 work stations and computer-aided design software. The multi-image presentation uses technical and artistic concepts drawn about 50 years ago from archeological searches and excavations by American archeologist and art historian Kenneth J. Conant.
