Designed to help businesses of all sizes meet the growing challenge of managing and securing regulated and non-regulated data with operational efficiency, IBM System Storage DR550 V2.5 offers a cost-effective solution to emerging compliance regulations and corporate governance problems. The new preconfigured, integrated solution provides native LTO generation 3 WORM tape support and supports enterprise scalability of up to 90TB of physical disk capacity, as well as petabytes of storage with attached tape. This latest archive client feature allows users to store and retrieve data directly to and from their workstation or file servers. With high performance POWER5 technology and open API to interoperate with ISV software, the DR550 V2.5 is designed to offer automatic provisioning, migration, expiration and archiving capabilities for ease of use. It also provides data encryption for disk and tape and optional synchronous data replication between local and remote sites.
