Ideal for increased productivity and lower ILM costs, the new tape drive is more than twice as fast as its predecessor with nearly twice the capacity. With a native data rate of up to 100 megabytes per second and a native cartridge capacity of 500 gigabytes, the new solution provides outstanding reliability for data integrity, improved operations and business continuance. The TS1120 uses the existing 3592 data cartridges and can read/write in generation 1 and 2 format helping to protect investments and ease implementation. Its high performance reduces the number of tape drives required and improves job productivity, while its large capacity reduces the number of cartridges required and amount of floor space required.
